Your wedding day is filled with unforgettable moments. There’s the quiet, poignant moment when the bride stands at the last pew of the church and your guests stand in honor. There’s the bubbling murmur of old friends catching up and laughter as it fills your cocktail hour. Then there’s the ecstatic, joyous moment during your dance party when so many of the people you love are standing in a circle, arms around shoulders, singing “Lean On Me” as they celebrate togetherness and love.

Our entertainment team has 10 years of experience working making our cou guests into each moment and set the mood for memories to happen. Our happy couples know that music is what takes your wedding day through each emotional high point, fills your guests with joy, and encourages everyone to let it all hang out at the end of the night!

Most of our couples want us to take care of music throughout the evening; from the acoustic guitar for guest welcome before the ceremony, to the first dance, to the hands-in-the-air dance party at the end of the night. Our repertoire and musicians can cover a range of musical styles from solo instrumental guitar, to Hawaiian trio, to a jazz quartet, to high-energy dance band, and to most places in between.

  • The packages that you offer don’t provide what I want. Should I purchase a customized package?

    • In our experience, most people want their music needs covered for the entire night. Our packages allow us to provide you with exactly what you need, while bundling services and passing on the savings to you.

    • However, if you feel like your music needs fall outside of our packages, we're happy to customize a quote for you. Let’s talk!

  • What comes in your professional audio and professional lighting package?

    • Audio Package

    • We provide up to three different sound reinforcement systems for different phases of your wedding day. Often this translates into a PA system for your ceremony (including a wireless mic for your officiant), a different PA system for your cocktail area, and then third system for your reception.

    • Our reception system will be equipped with a wireless mic for your MC, and a second wireless mic for your speeches. We will also bring an appropriate amount of speakers and su-woofers for a crowd of up to 350 people. More specific specs are below.

    • Our main reception audio system revolves around a Presonus RM16ai digital mixer or a QSC Touchmix-16 digital mixer. We use QSC K12s and Electro-Voice ETX12Ps for our main speakers. We use QSC K10s for monitors, and an Electro-Voice ETX18SP for our sub-woofer.

    • We use a combination of an Allen & Heath ZED10FX and QSC speakers for our ceremony and cocktail setup. We use Sennheiser wireless mics.

    • Lighting Package

    • For packages including a dance party or DJ music we bring a full compliment of customizable uplighting for behind the band/DJ. We also bring dance floor lighting, including 2 spotlights and 1 revolving light.

  • I know I need music, but I don't know when to use it. Do you have any advice?

    • We recommend having music (live or recorded) playing throughout your evening. Music helps to set the mood, it provides a sense of occasion, and lets your guests know something is happening .

    • We recommend starting music about 15 minutes before your ceremony, which calls your guests into the ceremony area. Music should also accompany your guests from cocktail hour, through dinner, and then into your after-dinner/dancing time.

    • Our packages provide a total solution for your needs throughout the night with a mix of live and DJ music.

  • I think I need help planning my wedding, and I'd like to hire live music. Can you help me with both?

    • We do often sell our services bundled. When we offer those services together, we can offer you a package price. Meet us for a consultation and we can provide you with a quote.

  • How many band members do you have?

    • We hire the appropriate number of musicians for the phase of the wedding and the style of music desired. We also often add musicans throughout the evening. For example, we'll start with a soloist for the ceremony, a duo for cocktail and dinner, and a six piece for dancing.

    • The core of our band is Curtis Kamiya on vocals and guitar, and Annie Kamiya on vocals and perussion. We'll add bass to that for a bigger and more energetic sound. For a dance party we'll add a drummer, keyboard player, and sax player.

    • At our largest configuration we have 9 players on-stage. We have a 5 piece rhythm section of drums, guitar, bass, percussion, and keyboards. We have a horn section with alto sax, tenor sax, and trumpet, plus an additional lead singer.

  • I like what I see so far, but I’d like to see you live. How can I check out a live performance of Mango Season?

    • We perform in and around the Honolulu area quite often, several times a month. Feel free to visit our gig calendar to find a date to come see us. Please take note that our band configuration changes based on the gig, some are solo or duo, some are full band. Come check out what you'd like to see, and be sure to come say "hi" afterward!

  • Why is live music so much more expensive than DJ?

    • The difference in price comes down to the number of people needed to provide the service. A full band is at least six musicians, whereas a DJ can often play music all evening with one or two people.

    • We also pay our DJs and musicians well to attract whom we feel are the finest musicians that Hawaii has to offer.
